“Street Photography in Messina – Glances in Transit”
PARTICIPATION REGULATIONS
Messina – March 2027
1. Name and Purpose
The photography event “Street Photography in Messina – Glances in Transit” consists of a group exhibition dedicated to street photography and the visual storytelling of the urban environment.
The event aims to promote contemporary photography, encourage dialogue and exchange among photographers, and highlight photographic language as a means of cultural and social expression.
2. Exhibition Theme
The sole theme of the exhibition is Street Photography.
Photographs depicting spontaneous scenes of everyday life, urban environments, human relationships, and aspects of contemporary reality through the language of street photography will be considered.
3. Venue and Duration
The exhibition will take place in: Messina, Italy
Exhibition period: March 2027 (exact dates to be announced)
Duration of the exhibition: 5 days, from Monday to Friday.
4. Participation and Submission Guidelines
Participation is open to all photographers, regardless of age or nationality.
Each applicant may submit a maximum of 5 photographs.
Photographs created or modified using artificial intelligence are not permitted.
Images must be submitted no later than January 4, 2027, to the following email address: charmofartphotograph@gmail.com
Required submission format:
* maximum long side: 1500 pixels
* JPG format
Selected photographers will subsequently be required to provide a high-resolution file suitable for printing.
File Naming
Each file must be named as follows:
First Name – Last Name – Title: 01
Example: Mario – Rossi – Sailing on a Boat 01.
5. Selection of Works
The submitted photographs will be reviewed by the jury.
The selection will be based on the following criteria:
* artistic quality * consistency with the theme
* narrative and communicative ability
* originality of photographic language
One or more photographs may be selected from each photographer.
The jury’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.
6. Jury
The jury will consist of:
* Roberto Pestarino – Photographer
* Luisa Zinna – European Representative of Charm Of Art
* Santo Cicirò – Founder of Charm Of Art
(Brief biographies and links to personal websites may be included in an appendix to these regulations).
7. Participation Fees
By the registration deadline, participation requires the following contribution:
* €5.00 for the first photograph
* €2.00 for each additional photograph
Participation fees paid for the submission are non-refundable.
8. Contribution for Selected Works
Photographers whose works are selected for the exhibition will be required to pay an exhibition and printing contribution of €45.00 for each work displayed.
The print will be produced according to the following specifications:
* maximum long side: 40 cm
* approximately 2 cm white or black border
* the photographer’s name and the title of the work indicated on the border
Any technical variations will be agreed upon with the selected photographers.
The contribution includes:
* installation and dismantling of the exhibition
* production of posters, promotional materials, and identification labels
* exhibition and presentation of the works
* participation in the Art Gala
* publication of the works on the official Charm Of Art channels
* photographic coverage of the event, with online publication of the images
* promotion of the event through social media, press, and other communication channels
* management of the exhibition and any sales
Payment Terms
Payment of the remaining participation fee must be completed by Monday, February 8, 2027.
The amount paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Participation will be considered confirmed only upon receipt of payment.
9. Sale of Works
For works sold during the event, the organization will retain a 20% commission on the sale price.
10. Copyright and Liability
Each participant declares and guarantees that:
1. they are the sole author and rights holder of the submitted photographs;
2. the works do not infringe any copyright, trademark, intellectual property rights, or other third-party rights;
3. the photographs do not infringe upon the privacy or image rights of any person;
4. where necessary, all authorizations required by applicable laws and regulations have been obtained.
The photographer shall indemnify and hold the organization harmless from any claim, damage, dispute, or controversy arising from a breach of the above declarations.
11. Ownership of the Works
The intellectual property rights to the works remain exclusively with the photographers.
The organizers do not acquire any commercial exploitation rights over the images.
The transfer of digital files or prints to third parties is not permitted without the photographer’s explicit authorization.
12. Use of Images
The selected photographs may be used exclusively for:
* promotion of the exhibition
* institutional communication concerning the event
* documentation of the initiative
* publication on the organization’s official channels
The photographer’s name will be indicated whenever the images are used.
If the photographer’s name is accidentally omitted, the correction will be made promptly following notification.
13. Storage and Collection of Works
The works will be kept throughout the duration of the exhibition and any extensions thereof.
At the end of the exhibition, photographers may:
* collect their works free of charge from the exhibition venue;
* request shipment at their own expense.
Works not collected within 5 days of the closing of the exhibition may be disposed of without any further obligation on the part of the organization.
14. Limitation of Liability
The organization will exercise the utmost care in handling the works.
However, it cannot be held responsible for:
* inaccurate or incomplete information provided by photographers;
* damage resulting from transportation;
* theft, loss, or damage to the works;
* minor color variations or technical differences resulting from the printing process.
Any insurance coverage remains the responsibility of the photographer.
15. Processing of Personal Data
Personal data will be processed exclusively for organizational, administrative, and promotional purposes related to the event, in compliance with applicable personal data protection legislation.
16. Acceptance of the Regulations
Participation in the event constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these regulations.
